For the design it was important to take external variations such as weather, program, transport, geomorphology, the representation of external events and the functionality of these, applying them to a voids space. This project had a specific program what was made for ArchMedium but nevertheless seeks to implement landscape points, and in one way or the other we will need to connect the highline. Given this design the stroke begins covering the square footage required for the project on a Fit Test with the importance of the agents of external events. The area is located in Chelsea in Manhattan, is a place dedicated to art but it is also very close to the industry.
Urban Effects is a phenomenon that can be used to recover waste lands, voids or useless spaces; they can be reused based on events in the city. The main idea of the project was to involve the cultural and historical context of the city and involve in a wasteland like the abandoned train station in Chelsea. Another value to be considerer for us was the closest park “High Line” and the kind of people who visit it. So we take the Bernard Tshumi theory based on events in the city for the design.
